Main languages: There are 3,550 languages spoken in Asia, but Chinese (China and the diaspora), Hindi (India) and Arabic (Middle East) predominate. English is spoken as a first or second language by many educated Asians, especially in former British colonies. Russian is widely-spoken not only in Russia, but also on Central Asia (“the Stans”).
Main religions: Muslim (25%), Hindu (22%), non-religious (19%), Buddhist (10%), Christian (8%)
